Gettin’ Those Fall Wedding Feels!

Shorter days and cooler temperatures can only mean one thing… it’s Fall Wedding season! We teamed up with some of the best in the biz and got fired up with a speakeasy-inspired photo shoot!

A couple weeks back, we had the a-MAH-zing opportunity to get together with some of our best pals and dream up our first fall wedding of the season.  The theme was ‘speakeasy’; the colors were gold and black and bold all over; and it was so. friggin’. cool! Vintage-inspired details touched every part of the space, and our florals added a romantic and bright contrast. It was moody and different and, did we mention, SO COOL?! Held at a relatively non-traditional venue, The Culver Hotel, and coordinated by the lovely Golden Poppy Events, this shoot truly set the stage for an unbelievable wedding season to come.  Thanks so much to Fondly Forever for the gorgeous photos, and to 100 Layer Cake for featuring it! Now let’s get into things… we dare you not to drool 😉

The black and gold theme was carried out beautifully on tablescapes featuring linens by La Tavola, as well as dishes, stemware, and flatware care of Dish Wish. Everything was vintage inspired, and provided a striking complement to our floral arrangements!

The bar at The Culver Hotel was the perfect wedding cocktail hour setting, and featured cocktails common to the speakeasy era including a spicy old fashioned, martini and apple toddy. The recipes were provided by Twist Your Spirits, and a custom bar sign was crafted by Mixt Media Arts. While we spent pretty much the entire summer reveling in delicious summer cocktails, this cozy bar setting got us equally excited about fall libations!

Catering by the wonderful Thyme Café & Market featured small bites and canapés – again, reminiscent of the speakeasy era, wherein proprietors would offer their inebriated customers assorted bite-sized canapés to snack on while mingling. An exquisite and unique cake (um, it was on cement stands! how cool is that?!) by our friends at The Butter End Cakery rounded out the divine food experience.

No wedding is complete without some personal touches, and the one for this shoot was maybe the best ever… a romantic poem by poet Madison Liddy. Love, love, love this idea!
