Reception Flowers to complete your day
Your reception flowers are typically where our couples choose to focus their floral dollars. After all, it’s the area where you and your guests will be spending the most amount of time, and in many ways, the most meaningful. Yea yea, the ceremony is where you made it official, but the tradition of “breaking bread” together holds meaning in just about every religion. It symbolizes unifying, forgiving, celebrating, sharing and rejoicing. As much as you want these tabletops to be beautiful, they also must be welcoming to your guests as a place to share a meal together for the next few hours.

Round, Square or Long?
Gone are the days of a sea of round tables in a ballroom. You have so many choices for your reception design, and mixing it up is always fun too! There’s no wrong answer here. Consider your guest count and the capacity of the room. If you are tight on space, round tables might work best. But that’s not to say, creating a long “head table” is out of the question. The long feasting table has been trending for some time now and it’s a wonderful way of unifying your guests.

High or Low?
High floral arrangements certainly do create drama, and in a room with high ceilings, many opinions will say it’s a must. If you have a fruitful budget with room for this, then the sky’s the limit (no pun intended). But remember the cost on these will be about 3x that of your low floral centerpieces. That said, there are ways to play with this. You may choose 1/3 tall florals to 2/3 low and lush arrangements. If you’re a bit more budget conscious, know that in our opinion, tall floral arrangements are certainly not a must. At the end of the day, guests seated at that table, don’t get to enjoy it as much as the guests seated at the table where a stunning low and lush arrangement is right before their eyes. There are ways of bringing in tall candle treatments as well, as a way of creating height variations without breaking the bank.

A few more things to consider
If you are doing long tables and want gorgeous lush floral arrangements, consider a few things: Are the tables at your venue wide enough? Are you having a plated dinner or a family style dinner? After all, we don’t want the flowers fighting with the wine glasses. Not to worry, we have solutions for just about every scenario.

Tiny details for a memorable wedding
Heading back to that whole “guest experience” thing…we are big fans of the little details. A simple bloom tucked into each napkin or placed upon each menu card make a huge impression. It’s a personal thank you to each guest. It might seem like a “want” and not a “need” but try and hold a few dollars in the reserve for this. It goes a long way.
